“I can feel happy and lucky again. I didn’t expect this was still possible.”

Tessa, 18, came to iPractice for anxiety symptoms she was experiencing after her final exams in high school. She had previously been in treatment with the POH-GGZ, but after her final exams she suddenly felt unwell. She suffered from depressive symptoms and had regular panic attacks. That’s when she decided to seek more intensive help from iPractice.

“Final exams went well, but then I fell into some kind of hole. All of a sudden I was doing very badly.”
“I worked very hard for my final exams and that had its cost. The final exams went well, but after that I fell into some kind of hole. Things suddenly went very bad for me. I couldn’t bring myself to do anything anymore and didn’t like anything.”

“At iPractice, I got help immediately because there was no waiting list.”
“I was already in treatment with the POH-GGZ for stress management and perfectionism. When I started suffering from panic attacks in addition, I decided I need more help. I went to my GP and got a referral for a psychologist. At iPractice, I was able to start immediately because there was no waiting list. Of course, I looked up some reviews online first, but they all turned out to be fine.”

“After the intake, I was able to start online immediately.”
“After the intake, I was able to start online immediately. I had weekly video calls with the online psychologist, which worked better for me than the chat. It’s very nice to be monitored in between physical appointments.”

“ACT therapy worked best for me. I learned to accept that feeling a little tension is normal.”
“I had a total of 12 appointments. Short ones with an online psychologist and longer ones with a psychologist on location. In these we tried different therapies. The ACT therapy worked best for me. I learned to accept that feeling a little tension is normal. This was a kind of turning point in my mind. It makes no sense at all to fight against feelings. After each ACT session I felt a little better and my panic attacks disappeared.”

“Therapy goes with ups and downs.”
“Even if you don’t think things will work out, something can always happen in therapy that will make things work out. Therapy goes with ups and downs. At first I felt hopeless, but at some point there was a kind of switch. Every session it got a little better. So at first things got worse, but then they did get better, which is normal.”

“I took a year off to work on myself and focus on my therapy entirely.”
“I took a year off to work on myself and focus on my therapy entirely. I worked extremely hard for six years without taking any rest. This is the first time I get bored sometimes. I am now learning to find a lot of value in the smallest things. That really changed this year. I can feel happy and joyful again. I didn’t expect this was still possible.”

“What I have learned about myself now, I will take with me for the rest of my life.”
“If you don’t feel good about yourself, find the help you think you need. What I have learned about myself now, I will take with me for the rest of my life.”
