Tobias van Duffelen
Tobias is an online psychologist at iPractice and places great importance on creating a safe and supportive environment in which clients feel comfortable sharing their story. He believes that a strong therapeutic relationship forms the foundation for effective treatment. Tobias completed both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at Vrije Universiteit and speaks both Dutch and English.
He has experience working with a range of concerns, including suicidality, depression, anxiety, and sleep problems. During his work and internships, he has primarily used cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and motivational interviewing (MI). In his approach, he supports clients in a practical and engaged way to gain insight into their thoughts and behaviors, and to take steps toward a life that aligns more closely with their values. In addition, during his studies he conducted research on the need for supportive care among caregivers of head and neck cancer patients, which broadened his perspective on the impact of psychological difficulties within a wider social context.
