Carola Grutter
As a GZ psychologist, she places great importance on building a strong therapeutic relationship with het clients. For her an open and safe collaboration forms the foundation of every treatment. She believes it is important to truly see the client and to have attention for their personal experiences and background. From a position of trust, she work together with the client towards achievable goals, with attention to both the client’s difficulties and their own strengths and resilience.
In her work, she makes use of evidence-based treatments such as EMDR, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), ACT and schema-focused interventions. She tailors her approach to what suits the client and the phase of treatment, combining professionalism with involvement and a humane perspective. She has experience in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder, depressive symptoms and anxiety disorders.
She has been a BIG-registered healthcare psychologist since 2009 and studied Psychology at the University of Amsterdam. She has experience within specialised mental health care and previously ran her own private practice for many years.
